Use the appropriate size filters for the material sprayed. Check all hoses for internal build-up, cracks, kinks, holes, blisters, abrasions and exterior damage to hose cover. Check all gun components for cracks or leaks and ensure that they are properly attached. Give your sprayer an annual general service check at an Graco Authorized Service Distributor.
Check that your pressure is not set too low and if so, turn pressure control knob clockwise to increase pressure. Check that your spray tip is not clogged, and that your spray tip is too large or worn. Check that your pump and/or gun filter is not clogged, if so, clean or replace it. If the paint coat is too thick, move gun faster. Make sure gun is far enough from surface and choose a tip with smaller hole size or with wider fan. If the paint coat is too thin, Move gun slower. Make sure gun is close enough to surface and select a tip with large hole size or a narrower fan.

How can I avoid premature wear of packings & valves?4
How do I unclog my spray tip?
Always leave Pump Armor in the unit for storage. Clean the inlet strainer regularly. Prime sprayer with prime valve and relieve pressure at gun. Clean the unit after every use and keep it lubricated with TSL.
To unclog spray tip, first point arrow shaped handle to UNCLOG position (backward). Then aim gun at piece of scrap or cardboard, pull trigger to clear clog and reposition tip forward.

Check if there s any Air in paint pump by turning spray/prime valve (black valve) to PRIME position (pointing down). Open prime valve to purge air from paint pump. Clean your inlet strainer, it may be clogged. Check that the suction tube is tightened. Check if the lower ball stuck on seat. Take a small hammer and hit moderately the connection of the suction tube. After a few seconds, the ball should loosen and the pump starts working. If not, clean lower ball and seat. Check if the lower ball is sealing on down stroke, if not, the ball and seat may be dirty, worn or scarred. If paint leaks down outside of pump, the unit packings need to be changed. Contact a Graco Authorised Service Distributor.
This can be due to multiple things. First check that your paint pail is not empty, if so refill paint pail and reprime your sprayer. Check that your spray tip isn t clogged. If so point arrow shaped handle to UNCLOG position (backward), aim gun at piece of scrap or cardboard and pull trigger to clear clog, then reposition tip forward. Check that your spray tip isn t worn, if so, replace it. Check that your filters are clean, you may need to replace these, or replace the current one with the correct size filter mesh, switch to larger mesh filters, or operate without filter. If your material too thick or not strained properly, you may need to thin, mix and strain material. Your hose may also be too long and/or wrong size diameter, check the sprayer manual for the correct size hose. Pump check valves may also be dirty or damaged and your spray/Prime valve may be worn or obstructed with debris, if so, contact a Graco Authorised Service Distributor.
